"Safe Harbor is exactly as the name implies.  We felt rattled on arriving but our child felt relaxed and we are grateful for that." -- Al & Maria

Kids Racing For Kids Supports Safe Harbor
Safe Harbor recently was selected to be one of
five child advocacy centers in the United States
that were recipients of a $4,000 donation from
the
Kids Racing for Kids Foundation (KRFK).
Foundation Director Tim Self presented the
check for $4,000 to Safe Harbor Director Brenda
Nelson at the World Karting Association’s
national race event held in Dousman, Wisconsin
on June 14th.  The Mission of the KRFK
Foundation is to help abused children across
the U.S. while instilling charitable values in
drivers.

As a part of the “kids helping kids” mission of
KRFK, young go-kart drivers Cody Robinson,
Jake Cole, Trent Walko and Tommy Anderson
are participants in the kids giving back to kids
initiative of KRFK.  Michael Cole, father of driver
Jake Cole, stated “It’s easy to get caught up in
our own tribulations and lose sight of our good
blessings.  Kids Racing for Kids is an innovative
program and wonderful way to help abused
children.  It is a privilege to be associated
through the WKA with individuals like Tim Self
who take a leadership role in the community.  As
a parent, KRFK provides an opportunity to teach
our young drivers that their actions have a
positive and lasting impact on other children.”

Safe Harbor staff and Board of Directors are very
appreciative of this donation to our program and
the recognition it provides to the work we do to
help children that are victims of abuse and
neglect.
