2009 Radiothon a Smashing Success!
"Safe Harbor is exactly as the name implies.  We felt rattled on arriving but our child felt relaxed and we are grateful for that." -- Al & Maria
Thank you to Madison Police Department, Mid-West Family Broadcasting, La Movida Radio,
WTDY, and UW Health for another great Radiothon!

More than $40,000 was raised to help fight child
abuse and aid victims!  What a testament to the
generosity of our community, in addition to the
dedication of Safe Harbor supporters at Mid-
West Family Broadcasting, WTDY 1670, La
Movida 1480, UW Health and Madison Police
Department.

Appeals were made on April 17th on WTDY the
Pulse 1670 and on April 18th on La Movida 1480.

Funds generated from the Radiothon will be
used to support many of the following services
for children and families who seek help from
Safe Harbor:

  • Provision of initial and ongoing mental
health services for child abuse victims
    and their caregivers

  • Translator services to help us
    communicate with Spanish-speaking
    families

  • Translation services to assist in making
the interview records ready for use in court

  • Training and skill-building for member of
    our multi-disciplinary team of
professionals who work with victims of
    abuse and neglect

  • Recruitment and training of bilingual
    professionals to conduct interviews of
    Spanish-speaking children who are
    victims of abuse or neglect

  • Outreach education and prevention work
in our community to increase awareness
    about child abuse
