Safe Harbor
Child Advocacy Center

Protecting Children
Since 1999!
Safe Harbor not only provides a safe place for child victims to tell their story, it also
provides hope that healing can happen.

Safe Harbor first began its work as a child advocacy center in October, 1999. Since that date,
over 1,500 children who are suspected victims of child physical and/or sexual abuse or neglect
or have witnessed a violent crime have been interviewed at Safe Harbor.

Our work has resulted in over 1900 years of state prison, 1500 years of probation, 1000 years
of extended supervision and 60 years of jail for abusers. The compelling testimony given during
Safe Harbor interviews has led to hundreds of plea agreements which save tax payers
approximately $8,000-$16,000 for each case that doesn’t need to go to trial. Together with our
community partners, Safe Harbor seeks truth, justice and healing for the children who are
victims of abuse or neglect.
